It’s official. 

Brian Azzarello is the absolute worst writer on the Before Watchmen team.  Fuck understanding the canon of your source material; it’s more important that your big, tough, badass anti-hero fanboy self-insert swears uncreatively and (in the case of Rorschach) in complete opposition to his established character.  Now everybody knows he’s Tough and Means Business, and hey, maybe you’ll get a Goddamn-Batman-worthy catch phrase out of this!

well any excitement i had about these prequels has just withered and died

this is not rorschach. this is like a violation of everything rorschach stands for. i usually roll my eyes when tumblr gets up in arms about people using gendered slurs, but it makes me feel kind of ill to see someone attribute the word ‘bitch’ to rorschach. he grew up hearing almost every man in his life use that word against his mother. like hell he would use it so lightly. 

rorschach is a man who thinks fornication is the downfall of human society. he would not quip about asses.
